Song Premiere: Jess McAvoy’s ‘All Alone’
In today’s mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world, it’s easy to feel alone. Well, you’re not alone … many others feel isolated, some way or another.
Singer-songwriter Jess McAvoy left her native Australia in 2011 for New York City to pursue her career. On her new single, “All Alone” (Big Management), which makes its premiere on Pauseandplay.com, McAvoy tackles universal themes: memories of home, people that love you and the connections that never leave you.
“I had been away from Australia for three years,” McAvoy says, “and I was faced with the reality of returning, which filled me with apprehension. It hadn’t occurred to me that I had been running away from Australia, I was afraid that whatever I had been running from was going to be there to meet me. So I penned ‘All Alone’ to really dig into the things about my home country that ultimately make me feel safe, to bolster the feeling of home so it could override my fear.”
McAvoy isn’t even alone on the song; joining her is Alicia Madison.
Remember, you’re never alone.
