I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for “American Idol” to end its long, incredible run. It’s time.

It’s time to get back to the basics in creating fruitful music careers, through practice (lots of practice), solid songwriting, packing the band into a van, seeing every city in America and earning your stripes.

It’s time to get back to being discovered by a talent scout in a smoky venue, not being handed producer Greg Kurstin on a silver platter because you belted out a Whitney Houston tune on national television.

It’s time to get back to handing out demos of your new songs to anyone and everyone who will listen to them. If you can’t get that label deal, go at it alone. Yes, it’s a struggle, but you can do it, because you believe in yourself … just like these fine ReverbNation-affiliated artists who want their new or just-released albums or EPs to be listed on little ol’ Pauseandplay.com. We’re here for them.

Don’t stop believin’, indeed …
