The music-comedy variety series “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” aired for the first time on CBS and would last for three seasons. Show writers included Steve Martin and Rob Reiner. The theme song for the show was Campbell’s big hit, “Gentle On My Mind.” Guests over the years included Cher, Neil Diamond, Anne Murray, Roger Miller, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, The Supremes, Johnny Cash, Tom Jones and Campbell’s “True Grit” co-star John Wayne, among others.
