Created by 17-year-old Paul Williams, a Swarthmore College student at the time, the magazine was named after the Crawdaddy Club in London. Early contributors included Jon Landau, Sandy Pearlman, Richard Meltzer and Peter Knobler. Its final official issue came in 1979.
