The nationally syndicated radio concert series, “King Biscuit Flower Hour,” premiered, hosted by Bill Minkin. The first broadcast featured Blood, Sweat & Tears, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Bruce Springsteen. The hourlong program, which ran on Sunday nights, lasted until December 2005.
