A MILESTONE FOR OASIS: Universally loved anthem “Wonderwall,” originally released as a single on Oct. 30, 1995, has now reached a significant milestone of 1 billion streams on Spotify shortly ahead of its own 25th anniversary. It is the first 1990s song to achieve this. The single was also revealed recently by BBC Radio 2 as No. 1 in the UK Official Top 50 Britpop Songs with sales of 1.4 million – with Oasis claiming six of the top 10 titles. “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?,” recently released on limited edition picture disc and silver-colored vinyl with remastered audio to mark its 25th anniversary, is currently No. 3 in the UK Official Album Chart. This is the highest chart position in the UK since August 1996, with a 640% sales increase week on week. It is also currently No. 1 in the UK Official Vinyl Album Chart. The album is the UK’s third best-selling studio album of all time, and has a global sales total in excess of 22 million. – via Permanent Press
