New Songs: Robyn, Death Cab for Cutie, etc.

Normally around this time, I would be putting all these songs onto a Spotify playlist and sharing it with the world. Not anymore. As long as Spotify gives space to Alex Jones and his vile InfoWars podcast, I can’t in all good conscience do it anymore.

A few days ago, Spotify did pull some of Jones’ episodes, which were flagged for hate content, but many of his other vicious lies remain. It’s not enough, in my mind.

Anyone who claims that the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax and that the victims were “child actors” doesn’t deserve such a lofty platform. Even worse, his so-called followers have harassed and threatened victims’ families. One such family has had to move seven times because of death threats, according to a recent New York Times report.

I believe in free speech … but when it reaches this scary level, I’m out. Let me know when you throw out that garbage, Spotify.

In the meantime, if any other streaming service would like to host/post our New Songs playlist, please contact me.
