Pause & Play: You’ve done many fine albums, so what makes this one stand out and/or more special to you?

[su_quote]Maybe an artist has to feel that his newer work is better than work that has gone before (preferable to concluding that he’s over the hill). But I don’t think it’s just wishful subjectivity,” Lind tells Pause & Play. “My heart is in my last two albums too, but it seems like the natural course of things that we improve with age. In this case, I believe the songs on ‘Something Worse Than Loneliness’ are stronger than the ones on my earlier albums. I’m singing better. And, this being our third project together, Jamie [Hoover] and I have worked out a way to operate together. His production suits the songs to a T. Plus, there’s a close-knit intimacy in this one. The entire album was put together by just the four of us: I’m supported by the fabulous George Wurzbach on keyboards, Elena Rogers singing her unique and creative back-up vocals and Jamie’s dazzling musicianship. All three of them ‘get’ my music and each of them has the chops to deliver the goods. It’s a group effort and I’m not embarrassed to say I’m proud of it.[/su_quote]
