Radiohead, Kate Bush lead Rock Hall nominations

Chris Cornell’s death shocked the rock world in May. Fans understandably figured Soundgarden would be a shoo-in nominee for the next class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

No stranger to controversy, the Rock Hall came out with its list of 2018 nominees today (Oct. 5), and the most glaring omission is Soundgarden. And no Janet Jackson? Or Nine Inch Nails?

Among the 19 performers nominated this year, nine are first-time nominees, including Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Kate Bush and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Fans can cast their own votes at RockHall.com.

Here are the nominees:

Bon Jovi

The J. Geils Band

Judas Priest

LL Cool J

MC5

The Meters
