Your Music Book Store (Oct. 4 and Beyond)

CD sales are abysmal, digital sales aren’t faring much better and streaming is killing the video star, but hey, vinyl is back. So that makes the latest edition of “The Greatest Album Covers of All Time” (by Barry Miles, Grant Scott and Johnny Morgan) all the more essential for LP buyers.

The hardcover book, originally published in 2005, returns this week with a collection of 275 iconic album covers, from 1956 to 2016. The covers were selected by a panel of designers, musicians, producers and record company executives.

Ah, glorious album covers and gatefold sleeves. I love the smell of vinyl.

Here’s our weekly countdown of new and upcoming music book releases.

Read on.
