Just Added: Bennett & Brubeck, live at the White House 1962

Just a little over a year before he was assassinated, President Kennedy hosted the White House Seminar American Jazz Concert, on Aug. 28, 1962, on the grounds of the Sylvan Theater. Two of the guests, Tony Bennett and Dave Brubeck – both already legends in their own right – performed with their own bands.

Then, on the spur of the moment, they performed together … that performance is captured in its entirety for the first time on “Bennett & Brubeck: The White House Sessions, Live 1962,” coming out on May 28 via RPM/Columbia/Legacy.

At the time, Brubeck had solidified his star status with “Take Five” and Bennett was thrilling music fans with “(I Left My Heart In) San Francisco.”
