PAUSE & PLAY: Let's say someone comes across your new album in in a CD-store bin. They're not sure whether to buy it, because they've never heard of Johnny Society. You lean over to them all casual-like and tell them ...?
SIEGAL: "I love you."
P&P: How'd you like working with Garth Hudson?
SIEGAL: "It was an honor. ... The guy's an amazing musician. ... His performance on 'Find the Light' was his first take."
P&P: For the benefit of someone who hasn't heard all five Johnny Society albums, how has your sound progressed over the years?
SIEGAL: "Each record attempts to capture the spirit of what we were into and striving for at the moment ... I think they're all pretty different from each other ... and should be heard each in their own right."
P&P: Critics have said you're a throwback to the '60s and '70s. What's your reaction?
SIEGAL: "The 1860s, maybe."
P&P: Why didn't Hunk work out?
SIEGAL: "It did."
P&P: What's your best and worst concert moments?
SIEGAL: "One of the best was when we were opening for Cheap Trick and Rick Nielsen asked us to do their tune 'Heaven Tonight' during our show - and in the middle of the tune he came up and jammed with us. Can't think of the worst moment, but as a rule any moment on a stage that's uninspired kinda sux."
P&P: Out-of-left-field question: Should New Orleans be rebuilt?
SIEGAL: "Of course."
P&P: What's the first record you ever bought?
SIEGAL: "The Dogs, 'Let's Go For a Walk' ... I bought it alright."
P&P: What's the first concert you ever went to?
SIEGAL: "Kiss 1978 - it was the best."
P&P: What's the worst job you've ever had?
SIEGAL: "When I was 5, my uncle gave me a job collecting all the old people's dirty towels at the beach. At the end, I got paid a nickel."
