BTW: Sooooo ... why is Howle thanking Mark? "Mark Bryan of Hootie & the Blowfish produced the record, so I just had to thank him," she tells P&P. "Mark has watched my music over the years and been a friend. I have watched his music as well. Mark saw things I did not see in my own self and brought them out into the open. I think that is one thing that a good producer does. I have never met anyone who loves music more than Mark Bryan." Howle has drawn comparisons to such singers as Patsy Cline, k.d. lang, Nina Simone, Flannery O'Connor and Karen Carpenter, but she's taking it all in stride. "Would you like to be on a beach trip in a rental house with those women? I certainly would, but man, it would sure be intense! Anyways, some writers have been quite flattering with their comparisons, and I do appreciate it."
