BTW: "Last week, I was thinking about how such an ordinary guy like me could have come up with such a good record," Paprocki tells P&P. "Today, I'm thinking that I'm The Evil Non-Conformist. We are Me, and I don't have any black T-shirts, Marshall amps, or tattoos.

"It almost seems that at least one of those things is required at this particular moment in time. We like things a little more kinder and maybe even happier, if that's possible. We don't think that the mainstreaming of malevolence was really such a great idea.

"These songs vary throughout the CD from very 'traditional' pop, to something outside enough for a Beefheart album. Those who are imprisoned by the fashion of the moment might not like this disc. That's okay; they have plenty of company, and I'm sure that they are content. For anyone who can relate to a vibe that is just perceptibly concerned, but doing its best to keep things positive, the Ed Hines Band will fit right it."
