(Loyal Dutchess, Sept. 4, 2007) | BTW: With "Sweet Danger," Bogguss tells P&P that she "went into this album sort by the seat of my pants. I wanted to be spontaneous and let my gut tell me what my next project was going to be. When I blurted out to my friend Jason Miles ... 'What are you doin'?' (He had asked me what was next) I was only half-serious, but as we both sat rather dumbfounded at the remark ... lights went on in both of our eyes and I just knew ... something cool was coming."
"Sweet Danger" proved to be a tough but worthy challenge for Bogguss. "I think that letting myself go with wherever the music was wanting to take me was the challenge," she says. "I have produced most of my albums and there has usually been label or genre parameters that I was aware of slightly holding me back. Hoping to be wiser with experience, I tried to catch myself when I was micromanaging this music and listen to Jason, the musicians, and my inner-most confident self. I feel like I really didn't second-guess things with this CD."
